A massive earthquake struck southwest China on Monday, May 12, 2008 , killing 40,075 people as of 5/19/08 (the death toll is still rising). Thousands more are still missing. Many have lost everything they owned. Lives and families have been ruined. While we are mourning for the people who were shed from this terrible tragedy, we'd like to ask for your help and donations. These unfortunate people NEED our help to rebuild their lives. Please help in anyway you can and your help will make a difference!

As of June 3, PUAA-DC has received donation of $41,500 from 92 donors.

3. PUAA-DC is a non-profit 501 (3)(c) organization. Your contribution is fully tax deductible and you will receive an electronic receipt through email soon. Be sure to include your name, telephone number, address, and email address with your donation, and tell us if you are willing to show your name on the website. The names of donors will be listed on our website. However, if you prefer not to, we will assign a donation ID and show it on the web instead.

4. When you make donations, please check with your company to see if PUAA-DC is eligible for gift matching. PUAA-DC's registered name with IRS is: Peking University Alumni Association Inc. as shown in GuideStar.com, the non-profit organization portal. Please note that the address in GuideStar is out dated.

5. Every dollar generated will go towards the Earthquake victims. All funding will be forwarded to China Red Cross.
