PUAA-DC donations to various educational and social causes, ranging in $ amount from hundreds to thousands, are supported by pledges of its individual members and friends as well as proceeds from its collective efforts such as organizing concerts and other cultural activities.

Through these donations, PUAA-DC demonstrates its deep commitment to the development and growth of Peking University and to the exchange and friendship between China and the United States.

2005 Education Donation

At the end of January 2005, the Washington DC Alumni Association made hard work and great efforts in preparing and receiving President Xu and the Student Art Troupe to visit the University of Maryland and achieved great success. At the same time, taking advantage of the visit of the Peking University delegation and the performance of the art troupe, we focused on mobilizing alumni in the DC area to donate to their alma mater, participating in the Beijing Olympics, the Peking University table tennis hall and my alma mater alumni donation project. Click here for more information.

2004 PUAA-DC Young American Students Scholarship

The American Young Students Scholarship is awarded by PUAA-DC to support young American students with Chinese or other ethnic backgrounds with opportunities of short-term or summer studies in China about Chinese language and culture.

PUAA-DC proudly sponsored two American Chinese students to visit and study in China in Summer 2004, with a $500.00 award for each winner.

2003 Donation to Peking University

PUAA-DC donated $2,000.00 to contribute to scholarship funds promoting the education and studies of indigent languages of East Asia countries in the Eastern Language Department of Peking University.

1999 Donation to Peking University

PUAA-DC donated $2,850.00 to establish the Foreign Students' Award (FSA). The awards are to be presented to distinguished foreign students who are currently studying in Peking University. The students whose hometown located in Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, U.S.A. may be qualified with priority.

1998 Donation to Peking University
